Betbidder.com to create 50 jobs in Ireland next year

Monday December 20 2010

Betbidder.com, a website based on the penny auction concept, has announced it is to launch in Ireland.

The company currently employs 14 people and plans to expand and create up to 50 new jobs in 2011.

On betbidder.com, users bid for cash prizes payable on the successful outcome of sporting events and for the opportunity to attend major sporting events.

The website is the brain child of Enda Morgan, formerly of ABN AMRO Bank and the Central Bank of Ireland.

"We are a start-up Irish company with big ambitions to expand across Europe and beyond. Currently we employ 14 people and we anticipate creating another 50 jobs next year.”

“We believe that Betbidder.com will revolutionise how people engage with sporting events. Our users have the opportunity to win large cash payouts for a minimal outlay.

"They also have the opportunity to bid for sporting experiences that would otherwise be unattainable for the average person on the street.

"Our site is not a gambling website but an online auction website. Users pay to bid for an opportunity to purchase cash prizes and other auction items at significantly reduced prices.”
