A member of the Banking Inquiry’s investigation team has made allegations of wrongdoing against colleagues using whistleblower legislation.
Members of the Oireachtas Committee were written to earlier this week and told concerns had been raised by one of the investigators responsible for compiling information for the inquiry.
The investigator wrote a report on their allegations, which are understood to implicate those working behind the scenes at the inquiry, and forwarded the complaint to the Acting Clerk of the Dáil.
A source described the investigators claims as “serious breaches” of the conducted required of the investigation team.
The Banking Inquiry members are currently meeting in private to discuss the claims.
