Former AIB chairman Dermot Gleeson and former AIB managing director Donal Forde will appear before the Oireachtas Banking Inquiry today.
Mr Gleeson will be the first senior banker to appear before the inquiry and will be the first to give their account of the night of the bank guarantee.
The former AIB chairman took part in some of the high level crisis meetings on 29 September 2008.
The inquiry yesterday heard that a team from the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) was ignored in discussions on the night of the government bank guarantee.
Brendan McDonagh, now head of Nama, but who was Director of Finance at the NTMA at the time, described to the Banking Inquiry how himself and a colleague were left in an adjoining room from 9pm-1am and only told about the guarantee when the decision had been made.
