AUDI'S flagship business car, the A6, has been named "executive car of the year" for 2013.

The gong for top business car was handed out at the 'InBusiness' Editors' Choice Awards for 2013.

The saloon was described as offering a "compelling proposition to the luxury executive segment in Ireland".

"The combination of technical innovation, excellent standard equipment, high-value customer packages and strong residual values ensures the A6 remains a firm favourite among both private and corporate fleet purchasers," the judges added.

The awards are said to "celebrate innovation and inspiration in Irish business" and are run in association with Chambers Ireland. Winners are chosen by the editorial team of the magazine on company growth, profile of business, range of services offered and business-to-customer relationships.

Audi Ireland managing director Christian Gussen said: "We are delighted to have won this award.

"The A6 has been a huge success story for us to date and we are confident that we can continue to build on that success for next year."

Chambers Ireland chief executive Ian Talbot said: "I'd like to congratulate Audi Ireland on being named Executive Car of the Year. These awards celebrate all that is good about doing business in Ireland and Audi certainly exemplify this."
