Allied Irish Banks informed staff yesterday of a number of changes to its retail and banking business in the Republic "to align ourselves further to the new economic and market realities".
From the end of this month, retail banking in Ireland will consist of 10 regions reporting to Denis Callaghan, general manager of AIB Retail.
Ken Heffernan, general manager of Business Banking in the Republic, has also seen a number of new appointments to his team.
"Practically all members of the executive management team within retail and business banking are taking on new responsibilities," the two men said in a statement.
The rejig comes as Robbie Henneberry, head of AIB in the Republic since last May, continues to overhaul the loss-making division, against the backdrop of bad loan losses.
