ALLIED Irish Banks (AIB) has raised €500m in a bond issue.
The so-called covered-bond was the first of its kind issued by AIB since 2007 while the bank received orders from 170 investors – 95pc of these were outside Ireland.
According to the bank, the bond was over-subscribed and orders valued at €2.3bn were made.
The bonds are not covered by the government guarantee scheme.
