Agents join forces for a comprehensive service

The Real Estate Alliance (REA) nationwide network of estate agents and Dublin commercial agents HWBC have formed a formal affiliation.

While HWBC is not a member of the REA network, the affiliation will enable both groups to work on nationwide projects which have become a feature of the market since banks have begun to adopt a more cohesive approach to portfolio management and have begun appointing receivers to dispersed portfolios.

REA has increased its membership by seven in recent months and its members have 40 offices nationwide, and together with HWBC they employ over 65 chartered surveyors.

Jonathan Hillyer, managing director HWBC, said that the link-up would provide access to foreign capital investment from both investors and financial institutions as well as a fixed-charge receivership service through its HWBC Allsop joint venture.

Philip Farrell, business development manager of REA, said the move was in response to demand for a nationwide property service comprising of experienced chartered surveyors in all sectors of the industry.
