Aer Lingus passenger numbers affected by industrial action threat in November
A threat of industrial action at Aer Lingus last month impacted its passenger numbers in November, according to the airline.
Aer Lingus said this morning that it carried 680,000 passengers in November, down 0.4pc on the corresponding month in 2011.
Its short-haul passenger numbers fell 2.2pc to 593,000, but long-haul passenger numbers were 13pc higher at 87,000.
Aer Lingus has carried just over 9m passengers in the year to date – 1.3pc more than in the corresponding period in 2011.
Aer Lingus Regional, the service operated by Aer Arann, carried 86,000 passengers in November – 28.4pc more than in November 2011. In the year to date, the service has carried 927,000 passengers, a third more than in the corresponding period in 2011.
Aer Lingus shares are unchanged at €1.08.
