The Chief Executive Officer of Aer Lingus, Christoph Mueller, will be leaving the airline next year.
It was announced this morning that the departure had "been agreed between Aer Lingus and Christoph Mueller".
Mueller, who was appointed in 2009, is due to step down as CEO and director in May 2015.
Aer Lingus chairman Colm Barrington commended Mueller for service over that time.
"Under Christoph’s strategic leadership, Aer Lingus has been transformed into a strong, consistently profitable airline with a clear strategic direction, a resilient business model as a value carrier and an improved cost base," he said.
The airline's board are now looking at appointing a successor. Mueller said he will facilitate the transition in the middle of next year.
