€3m plus auction sales

A STUD farm near Naas, Co.Kildare sold for more than €2.75m after auction yesterday. An unnamed Irish businessman secured Broadfield Stud, which is famous for breeding racing sire Indian Ridge. Agents, Goffs Country, had guided €2.5m for the 147-acre property and after bidding peaked at €2.75m, it was withdrawn and in subsequent negotiations it was sold for a higehr price.
At another auction, TE Potterton sold 18 acres of farm land, known as Corporation Land & Crowpark, Athboy Road, Trim, Co Meath for €240,000. A local couple bought the agriculture-zoned land about a mile from Trim town.
The same agent sold four small parcels of land in Ballygilchrist and Ballymore, Co Longford. The sites were a derelict cottage on eight acres which sold for €70,000; a derelict house on 22.5 acres which fetched €162,500; a 2.5-acre site for €16,000, as well as 6.33 acre site without planning for €48,000.
