€3m expansion plan to be announced for Dublin business district

A €3m expansion plan is being announced today for the Sandyford Business District (SBD).

Businesses in the South Dublin community say they want to establish the area as a global business capital by accelerating the major development of new office and residential space.

it is claimed that the SBD will generate over €3m in levies over the next five years.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mary Mitchell O’Connor will be announcing details of the new developments this afternoon. 

The area currently comprises four office parks, over 1,000 businesses and a workforce of 25,000; and is home to bluechip company headquarters including Microsoft, Vodafone, Salesforce, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Beacon Hospital and SSE Airtricity.

It is claimed that the new business district will generate in excess of €3m in levies over the next five years and was voted in by businesses at the end of 2016.
