Around 300 jobs are being created at the Dundrum shopping centre in Dublin.

US fashion chain Hollister is to open an outlet at the town centre development along with Asian restaurant chain Wagamama and a yet-to-be-named family entertainment centre.

Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation, said it was a vote of confidence for the retail sector and the domestic economy.

"If we are going to achieve growth and create jobs, we must find ways of helping these parts of the economy grow out of the problems that have plagued them for too long," he said.

"I am determined to ensure that government does everything it can to support the domestic economy and ensure that today's very welcome announcement can be replicated across the country."

The Port House restaurant is also set to double in size, just six months after opening, centre management said.

The expansion brings the total workforce in Dundrum to more than 6,000.
