240 staff at Nama and NTMA earning over €100k
The pay bonanza for high fliers at the National Asset Management Agency and the National Treasury Management Agency got bigger last year - the numbers on salaries over €100,000 jumped by 7.5pc to 240.
New figures provided by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan show that at the end of last year there were 116 employees at the National Asset Management Agency (Nama) on salaries over €100,000, with 124 in that earning bracket at the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA).
This compares to 223 on salaries over €100,000 at the two agencies at the end of December 2015.
According to figures provided by the minister, there was one person earning between €400,000 and €500,000 at Nama last year, with one person in the same earning bracket at the NTMA.
In his written Dáil response to Fianna Fáil's Michael McGrath, Minister Noonan revealed that there were six NTMA staff members earning between €300,000 and €400,000.

The Finance Minister also confirmed that there were 110 Nama staff earning between €100,000 and €200,000 last year, with 106 NTMA staff in the same earning bracket.
In his written Dáil reply, he said that "total remuneration includes base salary and any other taxable benefits paid to employees - including performance-related payments paid in 2016 in respect of 2015".
