SOME 150 jobs are under threat at Dan Morrissey Irl Ltd, the Carlow-based concrete company where a syndicate won €18,963,441m lottery back in 2008.

The company has ceased trading and receiver Grant Thornton has been appointed, it is understood.

Established by Dan Morrissey in the 1930s, the company has its head office at Bennekerry, Co Carlow.

At the height of the boom, the company was one of the biggest independent suppliers of materials to the building trade.

In June 2008, the biggest ever Lotto jackpot of €18,963,441 was won by a syndicate of 16 work colleagues from the facility in Bennekerry.
