'If you're not clear about your target customer, you're playing pin the tail on the donkey'
Most entrepreneurs will have realised that the product switch is one of the toughest things to do in business.
According to Keith Cunningham, if you're not clear about your ideal target customer, then you're playing pin the tail on the donkey.
"Just because you have a new idea or you're selling a product that is faster, cheaper, lighter, longer-lasting or tastier, doesn't mean that everyone who is using the competition's product will auto automatically switch to yours," he said.
"And if they do switch, I promise you that it will not be about your passion for the brilliance of your product."
Knowing who your target customer is requires clarity on exactly:
- Who you are trying to attract
- What problem they are trying to solve
