Afternoon tea is a lovely treat, but for a budget-friendly option, munch on a hot beverage and cake deal from Irish-owned Insomnia for only €4.50. We loooove their peanut butter chocolate slice (pictured).
Rather than opting for branded leisurewear, you could swap Claudia's Nike and North Face clobber for good ol' Penneys comfy hoodies (€15) or trainers from €9. We particularly like these colourful trainers for €15, and feel they would brighten up any person working from home's office, ie, their sofa!
You don't have to go to the Big Apple to sing along to a lavish musical. The Bodyguard is currently on at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre while The Sound of Music opens there in August. Tickets from €20 available from Ticketmaster.ie.
If you can't afford to visit the hair salon, and don't mind the risk of dyeing your bathroom while you're at it, a home colouring kit is the answer. Try L'Oreal Preference Mousse Absolue in very light gold blonde (shade 1031) for only €10.99 from Boots.ie. Or take advantage of hairdressing schools like Toni&Guy Academy, who offer ladies' cuts for €25 and balayage for €45 by supervised trainees.
