Supermac's reaped the rewards of its €10m investment in the Barack Obama Plaza by increasing operating profits by 35pc to €9.6m last year.
The plaza celebrating President Obama's links to Moneygall opened in May 2014. New figures from Supermac's (Holdings) show that revenues across the group rose from €79.9m to a record €93.3m.
The opening of the plaza off the M7 motorway between Limerick and Dublin involved the creation of 60 new jobs and Supermac's boss Pat McDonagh said yesterday that 2014 was "a record year" for the business.
"We are very happy with the way that the Barack Obama plaza has performed and it has received very good customer feedback," he said.
Mr McDonagh confirmed that six new outlets opened in 2015 with plans for a further five or six openings next year.
