Richard Curran BUSINESS strategy consultant and former GAA Offaly football manager Paul O'Kelly, is setting up a new venture to bring together Irish companies with suitable sporting sponsorship and marketing opportunities.
The company will link some of the biggest names in Irish sport with marketing initiatives by companies.
Called Solo Sports Media, its aim is to meet the increasing demand from corporate bodies trying to tap into the growing popularity of sport.
Mr O'Kelly said Solo Sports Media will work in advising companies on the best sponsorship opportunities in sport.
He will draw on the current client base of his consultancy business O'KellySutton based in Kildare, but also seek out new clients that want to be associated with sport.
The company plans to assist Irish companies in dealing with amateur and professional sportsmen and sportswomen and sporting bodies around the country.
"Solo Sports Media will bridge the gap between successful athletes and thriving companies," he said.
While the new firm will advise companies, it will also enable amateur sporting figures to receive fees for sponsorship or endorsements.
Mr O'Kelly has been working as a consultant for the last 15 years.
