Fine foods company lands €1m Tesco deal
A DEAL worth €1m with Tesco is likely to lead to 10 jobs being created at a Monaghan food company with 100 existing positions at the firm also being secured.
Swift Fine Foods has secured the annual deal with Tesco having first had its products listed with the retailer last year.
The company's hand-made meals are now sold in 100 Tesco outlets across Ireland.
Swift Fine Foods owner, Robert McElwaine, said a big focus for the firm had been in ensuring that the credentials of its food were clear to potential customers.
"We knew we had a quality product that could fill a gap in the retail market," he said. "We also knew that certain quality credentials had to be met."
Swift Fine Foods was previously part of the 2012 Tesco/Bord Bia Supplier Development Programme.
