The Virginia Show has dedicated classes for young people to test their skill at showing beef cattle, sheep and dairy animals.
Open to youngsters aged 12-16, the Young Stockpersons finals are judged on the handlers' ability to prepare the animal for judging and general knowledge of the animal's breed.
They are also examined on the animals' nutritional requirements and their ability to handle and present the animal in the show ring.
The show also features a unique Novice Competition, for which there is no age limit but entrants cannot have shown animals before.
