A 76ac parcel of land, originally part of the farm that hosted the Ballivor Horse Show, achieved its guide price when it sold under the hammer for €540,000, just above €7,000/ac.

Located at Portan, about half a mile from Ballivor and nine miles from Trim, Co Meath, the land was used for drystock farming and horses.

Auctioneer Thomas Potterton initially offered the farm in two lots of 28.8ac and 47.5ac respectively but the property was bought in the entire by a local farmer when it went on the market at €540,000.

A 23.5ac parcel of land in lots of 20ac and 3.5ac, divided by a road at Curraghadoo, Summerhill, Co Meath, generated a lot of local interest.

After a lively auction that took fire when the entire was introduced, the property was bought under the hammer for €285,000, or €12,000/ac, by a young couple from the area.

A four-bedroom bungalow on 10ac of pastureland at Ballinakill, Broadford, Co Kildare, was withdrawn without a bid and is now for sale by private treaty.
