The farm, which includes tillage, grazing and forestry, is part of the estate of the late Patrick O'Neill, of Roden, Rathcabbin, and will be sold at auction next month.

The lands are on the Offaly/Tipperary border. The house needs modernisation but, with the requisite planning permission, could be replaced.

Auctioneer Michael Duignan is guiding the property at €1m or €5,700/ac. The auction takes place at The County Arms Hotel, Birr, Co Offaly, at 3pm on Thursday, October 20.
