This is one of the most popular showing classes for young horses on the circuit, and carries a prize-fund of €6,000. It is also part of the Horse Sport Ireland National Showing Championship series.

Over the years many champions have gone on to win on the international showing circuit, and these include Margaret Jeffares' Ballykelly Emperor, winner here in 2013.

He was sold to a British buyer shortly afterwards.

Entries are confined to fillies and geldings registered in the Irish Horse Register with the breed codes ISH, RID or ID.

The dam and sire must be recorded on the passport.

The remaining qualifiers are: Armagh (June 13), Ballivor (June 14), Cork (June 20-21), Galway (June 20-21), Gorey (June 20), Lisburn and Saintfield (June 20), Enniscorthy (June 27), Charleville (June 27-28) and Adamstown (July 4).
