The three separate farms, all within one mile of each other in the Johnstown area, were sold to local farmers.

The first 63ac block, which was described as good-quality tillage ground with road frontage, made €652,000.

The second was a 22ac block, accessed via a laneway, which made €172,000. The third block consisted of 14ac without road frontage and made €150,000.

"All the properties made well over their guides, and might even have made more if they had water supplies," said Mr Coogan.
