Teeling's Mill sold for €90K more than guide price

Teeling's Mill in Drumree, Co Meath, the landmark sale at the auction, attracted one of the biggest crowds witnessed by auctioneer Padraig Sherry in more than 20 years.

More than 100 people gathered at Tattersalls to watch as the mill and 52.5ac at Clowanstown exceeded its guide price by €90,000.

Bidding for lot one, the mill on 10.75ac, opened at €170,000 and moved quickly to €260,000 as three bidders engaged each other. The mill was knocked down at €280,000 to a local couple.

The remaining 41.75ac portion across the road from the mill, attracted two farmer bidders who went head to head until it reached €510,000 or €60,000 over the guide price. The land was knocked down to a local dairy farmer.
