More than 100 people gathered at Tattersalls to watch as the mill and 52.5ac at Clowanstown exceeded its guide price by €90,000.

Bidding for lot one, the mill on 10.75ac, opened at €170,000 and moved quickly to €260,000 as three bidders engaged each other. The mill was knocked down at €280,000 to a local couple.

The remaining 41.75ac portion across the road from the mill, attracted two farmer bidders who went head to head until it reached €510,000 or €60,000 over the guide price. The land was knocked down to a local dairy farmer.
