Teagasc schedules

Teagasc has unveiled a packed schedule of forestry events for 2013, including a nationwide series of 30 tree planting clinics.

Taking place at venues all over the country, the afforestation/tree planting clinics will run from Monday, January 28 to Friday, February 8, 2013.

For details of the clinic nearest to you, contact your local Teagasc forestry adviser.

Nuala Ni Fhlatharta, head of Teagasc's forestry development department, said the focus in 2013 would be on promotion and training in relation to afforestation, forest management and thinning.

Among the events scheduled for next year are a series of forest management walks in 15 locations nationwide in April, the Irish Forestry, Woodland and Bioenergy show in Stradbally, Co Laois, on May 10-11 and an ash and hurley-making conference and workshop in July.

The programme of events is available on www.teagasc.ie/ forestry and from the new e-Newsletter service.
