The Teagasc Board met yesterday to discuss the on-going saga regarding the problems with the Derrypatrick herd at Grange.
This followed meetings between staff and Teagasc's head of livestock and grassland research, Pat Dillon, yesterday, where Mr Dillon assuaged fears of staff changes following the poor performance at the research centre.
Mr Dillon also confirmed that the Blonde d'Aquitaine bulls cost the farm an average of €1,650 each, while the most recent purchases, two Belgian Blue bulls, cost €5,000 and €5,750 each.
