Teagasc events on cross-compliance in nationwide tour

Teagasc is running a series of public information meetings on cross compliance across the country in the next fortnight.

These free information meetings will outline what happens during a cross-compliance inspection and provide advice on inspections for nitrates, cattle, sheep, pesticide and Single Farm Payment regulations. The seminars will also cover what records farmers need to keep and how to keep them.

"A cross-compliance inspection can be a challenging time for farmers," said Teagasc organiser Tim Hyde.

"But farmers can make small changes on their farms to avoid costly penalties."

"At these meetings, Teagasc advisers will show farmers what they can do on their farm to reduce the risk of a penalty on their Single Farm Payment, DAS, REPS and AEOS payments," he added.
