A residential holding of 23ac with a four-bedroom farmhouse located at Bogesky, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, was withdrawn from auction at Lisgrey house, Cavan town, on Friday, March 25.

Auctioneer Padraig Smith guided the sale at €250,000.

It opened at €160,000 and, in bids of €5,000, two bidders stayed with the race until it reached €180,000 and bidding ceased.

According to Mr Smith, after the property was withdrawn from auction a bid of €200,000 was made by one of the interested parties but the vendors were not willing to sell.

"The sale is active at the moment," said Mr Smith. "And I hope to have good news in the next few days."

The farm is located 8km from Ballyjamesduff, off the Ballyjamesduff to Cootehill road. The house is a two-storey residence with a traditional farmyard, while the land is comprised of 23.5ac of land in good heart.
