Series of forestry clinics begin

Teagasc's Forestry Development Department is organising a series of forestry clinics for people who are considering planting forestry on their farms over the next two weeks.
It is the first step in making an informed decision on forestry as an enterprise according to Teagasc's forestry boss, Nuala Ni Fhlatharta.
"Planting land can have many attractions, but you need to know if it is appropriate for you.
"Teagasc can provide the information, experience and advice necessary to assist in the decision making process.
"Similar clinics held in 2012 were very well attended, with a range of issues being explored, such as land suitability, environmental compatibility, interaction of forestry with other farm schemes, and potential returns on investment," she said.
These clinics, which are free but subject to prior booking, will take place in local Teagasc offices.
