Farmers who are in GLAS and have opted for the Low Emissions Slurry Spreading option are being reminded that today, Tuesday 15 November, is the deadline for returning completed forms.

Forms must be returned to the Department of Agriculture and figures from the Department show that 2,200 farmers had been issued declaration forms to complete as part of their GLAS plan.

The Department of Agriculture has urged the prompt return of forms is vital to ensure GLAS payments can be processed.

However it's understood that less than 500 of 1,270 GLAS 1 farmers have returned their forms, or just over one third. For farmers in GLAS 2 less than 300 have returned their forms - less than one third of farmers who were option for the Low Emissions Slurry Spreading.

The fully completed form must be returned to Johnstown Castle,  Wexford, Y35 PN52 or by email to glas@agriculture.gov.ie

Receipts are not required to be returned to the Department with the form, but must be kept by the farmer.

The form can be downloaded here.
