Sales of combines increase at the double

Combine harvester sales have more than doubled from last year to this, according to FTMTA.
Some 17 combines were sold in the Republic in 2010 and 38 this year.
Claas topped the league with 19 machines, John Deere had 10, New Holland seven and CaseIH eight.
Deutz-Fahr, Massey Ferguson and Sampo failed to feature in the registration tables.
Kildare recorded the highest number of new registrations with seven machines, followed by Cork with six -- five in Louth and four in both Meath and Wexford.
In total, there were new combine registrations in 11 counties in the Republic.
