REPS top of complaints

More than 100 complaints about the Department of Agriculture were made to the Office of the Ombudsman last year, its annual report has revealed.
More than 25pc of the complaints related to the REPS scheme, while almost 18pc related to farm developments grants.
Single farm payments complaints accounted for 15pc.
Other issues related to livestock grants, milk quota, the early retirement scheme, forestry premia and area aid.
However, the Department of Agriculture escaped lightly compared with the Department of Social Protection, which had 1,181 complaints against it in the past year.
