Race Stars out in support

Some of the best-known faces in racing recently launched the Fairyhouse 'Support Your Sport' campaign at the Co Meath track.

The concept has been created to target anyone associated with racing, employed in the industry or simply with a passion for the sport to come racing.

Support Your Sport Day is part of the two-day winter festival at the track on Saturday and Sunday, November 27-28.

The weekend is about bringing the sport to the people. As well as the usual racing, Fairyhouse will host the Punters' Podium throughout the day, where racegoers can meet the stars of the turf in person.

Peter Roe, acting manger at Fairyhouse racecourse, said: "The message is simple: if you are involved in the sport in any way, show your support by coming racing. Marketing departments across the country are continuously trying to come up with ideas to entice new faces to the races but the core industry can help by coming along, bringing the family and introducing a friend to the sport.

"Support Your Sport Day is about enjoying the racing experience. It is a fabulous day's racing, so we ask everyone from the industry accountant to the trainer's family, to wrap up, bring a friend and support your wonderful sport, live."

For those looking for a little more than just racing, you can explore the Discover Meath Christmas Fair at the course. With shopping, crafts, cooking demonstrations, kids' entertainment and more taking place in the Jameson Stand, the non-racing enthusiast will also be well catered for at the Royal county venue.
