Last winter, we experienced the coldest temperatures ever, with many farmyards attempting to carry on business as usual in temperatures lower than -10Â°C.
In dealing with these extreme conditions, we all learned a lot, but most of us still have a way to go.
For those with livestock, the challenge is often just to get them fed. Relatively simple in normal circumstances but, when it gets cold, just starting the feeding or loader tractor can be the biggest challenge.
Here we look at what you can do to prepare for the worst, though hopefully we will get a mild and muggy winter -- who ever thought we would miss a wet and miserable winter?
