Farmland in Co Wexford is commanding a premium price and an auction last week saw auctioneer David Quinn secure over €16,000/ac for a 39ac farm at Grove Mill near Gorey.
The holding sold in three lots with the house and yard on 13ac bought by a local couple for €222,000.
An 11.75ac adjoining parcel was sold to the same couple for €197,000 while a third lot extending to 14ac with substantial road frontage was bought by a local farmer for €210,000.
The accumulated price for the property came to €629,000.
On the same day Mr Quinn withdrew a 50ac farm at Crandaniel, Kilmuckeridge.
The property was withdrawn after a 10ac parcel was bid to €50,000 and the remaining 40ac was bid to €250,000. Active negotiations are on-going.
