The 2018 National Ploughing Championships is heading back to Screggan for the third year in a row.

The three-day event will return to the site just outside Tullamore, Co Offaly.

The event will run from September 18 to 20 next year. The announcement was made at a banquet at the weekend, where prizes were presented to this year's ploughing winners.

The 2017 Ploughing Championships broke all records as despite the mixed weather, a total of 291,500 people thronged to Screggan over the three days of the event - including 112,000 on day one alone.
