Going from strength to strength
Record breaking crowd reaffirms that the Ploughing Championships is still the biggest and best
High winds and heavy showers failed to dampen the spirits of the 208,000 visitors to the last week's Ploughing Championships. The mood among farmers was extremely positive after a year when trade for all produce has been strong.
The 700ac site at Cardenton, was rechristened 'Ploughtown' and the event got blanket coverage from all media sectors.
For exhibitors, the show was a chance to generate new customers while the ploughing competitors demonstrated their skill in the neighbouring fields.
After 80 years, the NPA is stronger than ever and the Ploughing's continued expansion into an agricultural festival looks set to continue.
