Kerry-based milking company, Dairymaster, unveiled its latest development in herd management at the National Ploughing Championships.

The company says it has produced the next generation of milking, with a touchscreen unit that alerts farmers about inconsistencies in their herd.

Dairymaster says that the new Swiftflo Commander will save farmers money by future proofing their investment and by commanding farmers to react to developing situations earlier.

"We feel as herds are expanding that farmers will need to know the right information at the right time and now we have it in a situation or at a place when they can react to it when they need to react to it," a spokesperson for Dairymaster told the Irish Independent.
