Blaney Agri's debut range to be unveiled

Blaney Agri Solutions, an Antrim-based machinery manufacturer, is the new tractor machinery division formed as a result of phenomenal growth in the range of tractor products from Quad-X.

However, unlike Quad-X (who specialise in making a range of ATV attachments), the company's new division is dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of tractor machinery.

The 2013 National Ploughing Championship will mark the launch of the Blaney Agri range and the firm will unveil a number of new products, including a new hedge-cutter model to add to their Contractor series as well as an excavator-mounted cutting head.

Blaney has had great feedback from farmers and contractors alike about its extensive hedge-cutter range and is looking forward to unveiling the BA93 Contractor series.

These machines use a robust design to tackle all types of hedges.

Blaney claims the Contractor series is the ideal choice for a contractor intent on doing a substantial amount of work or a farmer who has well overgrown hedges to tackle.

The new range has been developed following consultation with experienced hedge-cutter operators. Key features include a larger arm section for strength and bi-directional rotors which offer improved performance and a tidier finish. In addition, the main bushing is adjustable to extend the service life of the machine and avoid costly strip-and-replace repairs.

Another new product set for its launch at Ploughing, the Blaney Agri excavator cutting head, is designed to be coupled directly to an excavator, and is capable of cutting high density material (three years' growth).

Due to variations in pump outputs of different excavator makes and models, Blaney Agri custom designs and builds each head to suit the machine to which it will be fitted in order to achieve the best output and performance. This ensures that the machine runs efficiently, and is not overloaded during operation.

A number of special features enhance the operation of these excavator cutting heads, including a special head float system which reduces the input required from the operator and provides protection against scalping, especially when verge cutting. Blaney is hoping this product will prove successful as operators look to get the most out of their excavators during the quieter months of the year.

The Blaney range of tractor hedge-cutting machinery is available in three series – Compact, Agri and Contractor – depending on the intensity of the work being done.

Visitors to Ploughing who are interested are invited to call at the Blaney Agri stand to find out more.
