A 9.3ac field at the eastern end of Inchigeelagh, Co Cork, is for sale with a guide of €120,000.

Located in the upper Lee Valley and about 30 miles from both Cork city and Killarney, Inchigeelah is in the heart of west Cork.

The property in question is laid out in one level field and fronts on to the Macroom road.

According to auctioneer Henry O'Leary, while the property is most likely to remain in farmland in the current climate, just over 7ac are zoned for a low-density residential development with provision for a nursing home.

"Given the zoning on the land, it should be possible to get planning permission for a dwelling house," said Mr O'Leary.
