Pig farmers vent anger

Angry pig producers called an emergency meeting last week to vent their fury at processors and retailers who, they say, are profiting as producers are losing money on every pig sold.
The farmers claimed recent campaigns had resulted in considerable market share growth for Irish factories on retail shelves but yet producers were still losing out.
"The gains must be shared if the industry is to grow," insisted IFA pigs chairman Tim Cullinan.
