Phone app helps riders to improve technique

Award-winning Irish start-up company Grey Horse Apps is working on an innovative new horse-riding app for iPhones.

Focused on developing a rider's feel, timing and balance, the app will include interactive lessons to help riders develop soft feel, sense their horse's footfall and get in time with the animal's feet.

Lessons will cover how to use a change of balance at halt to prepare to move one foot laterally, asking your horse to concentrate physically and mentally on your work together, teaching personal space and how to back up with soft feel.

This is the first large-scale interactive app from the company, which was runner- up in last year's San Francisco Best Ever Apps awards with more than 1.5m votes cast globally.

The work is to be partly funded by an indiegogo.com crowdfunding campaign, to which anyone can contribute.
