Clifden's famous Connemara Pony Festival continues this week with the International Committee of the Irish Connemara Pony Societies at the Station House Hotel in Clifden today and the international reception tonight in the Abbeyglen Castle Hotel.
Tomorrow's schedule features the Irish Connemara green hunter competition, a new class for four-year-old Connemara ponies.
The class takes place in the showgrounds at 10am and will be followed by the loose jumping class for three-year-old ponies.
The Connemara Pony show opens on Thursday at 8.30am and will feature the country's top ponies, as well as some international entries.
The show consists of 24 in-hand classes and 10 ridden classes.
Aside from the equestrian classes, there will be plenty of family entertainment, including a best-dressed lady competition, a dog show, domestic arts and Irish dancing.
Friday will see the Connemara Pony Performance Show, featuring a puissance competition, working hunter, musical ride, carriage driving and a parade of champions.
