No changes on animal transport

AN EU review of its animal transport regulations has concluded that improvements in animal welfare can be better achieved by implementation of existing rules rather than introducing new ones.
However, the Commission conceded that bringing all member states up to scratch on the four year old rules remains a "major challenge" and that some of the rules are "not in line with current scientific knowledge." The chairman of ICMSA's beef committee, Kevin Connolly, welcomed the move.
