New course codes for the five UCD agriculture programmes
New course codes have been introduced for the agriculture programmes at University College Dublin and will be in use for January's CAO application deadline.
Leaving Certificate students aiming for a place at UCD in September next year should note that students enrolling on the Agricultural Science programme option will now be able to choose from one of five degree programmes at the end of first year.
These are Animal and Crop Production, Animal Science, Food and Agri-business Management, Engineering Technology and Agri-environmental Sciences.
This is a major change on previous years and students enrolling on DN250 Agricultural Science will be guaranteed a place on their preferred programme at the end of the first year. This is also true for students who choose DN250 ACP, DN250 AS, DN250 AES, DN250 ENT and DN250 FAM.
The new code for the Animal Science-Equine option is DN251, while the Dairy Business course goes by DN252.
Food Science is DN261, Human Nutrition is DN262, while Forestry is DN271 and Horticulture, Landscape and Sportsturf Management goes by DN272.
Meanwhile, UCD is to host two open days at the college campus on Thursday and Friday, at O'Reilly Hall on the college grounds.
