Located 1.7km from Summerhill and 10km from Dunsany, the property comes with a farmyard along with good road frontage and river frontage.

Philip Byrne of selling agents REA Coonans says the holding is accessed by a nice stone entrance and the land is laid out in five good grazing fields.

The farmyard is made up of an open hayshed, a cattle shed and nine stables.

At auction, bidding opened when Mr Byrne accepted a bid of €150,000. With three bidders in the chase, the property finally went on the market at €230,000.

Two customers, both local farmers, were still standing and bidding continued until Mr Byrne's gavel fell and the holding was bought for €250,000 by one of the nearby landowners.
