Machinery dealer bowled over
Well-known north Dublin John Deere dealer Derek Plant had plenty to celebrate last Wednesday night after the Irish cricket team's historic World Cup win over England.
Derek has employed many of the Irish cricket team over the years, including John Mooney, who hit the winning boundary in Bangalore, India.
John's mother, Frances, celebrates in the local Balrothery Inn with Derek locals and staff from Plant Farm Machinery.
Derek is heavily involved with the North County cricket club, where many of the national team have cut their teeth over the years. In addition to John Mooney, Derek has employed his younger brother Paul, who also played for Ireland, along with current international Andre Botha.
Derek is the main supplier for Grimme potato machinery in Ireland and has outlets in Dublin and Wicklow.
