A FIGURE of around €410,000 (€10,300/ac) has been paid for a Limerick holding.
Auctioneer Tom Crosse, of GVM, confirmed the sale of the 40ac at Reens, Ardagh.
He described the land as good quality and that the price achieved reflected the keen demand that still existed in the market for good quality land.
The property has road frontage and outbuildings.
Mr Crosse said there were five bidders on the property and it is believed that the buyer is a local farmer from the Rathkeale area.
"Land prices in the Limerick area appear to have bottomed out at €7,000-8,000/ac with the better holdings fetching €10,000 plus per acre," he said.
