FIFTY-SEVEN acres near Listowel in Co Kerry sold at auction on Friday for €362,000.
Bidding on the mixed quality holding at Kilmeaney, Kilmorna, opened at €275,000 and rose in increments of €5,000 to €360,000, at which point it was put on the market.
Auctioneer Tom Dillon, of Sherry FitzGerald Dillon Prenderville, said the buyer was a local solicitor acting in trust for her client, who is believed to be a local.
Mr Dillon said the auction, in the Listowel Arms Hotel, was mainly attended by locals.
The agents quoted a guide of €370,000 before auction.
The land was mainly grazing quality, set out in one field with road frontage onto the Kilmorna to Abbeyfeale road. The sale included an old farmhouse and outbuildings.
